A Budapest Sightseeing tour and a half-day tour to the Danube Bend (Szentendre) are included in the registration fee of accompanying persons.
Fees include: transportation by bus, qualified English speaking guide, entrance fees and taxes.

Description of Tours
 
All tours start and finish at the Conference Center. The return and arrival times are approximate. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances, the congress organizers reserve the right to cancel or amend any tours as necessary. Minimum number of participants: 20 persons/tour.
 

TOUR A and C - Budapest Sightseeing Tour (20 DEM)


Free for registered accompanying persons.
Three-hour sightseeing tour introducing the capital's most attractive features. The tour includes among other things: Heroes' Square with its Millennium Monument, Matthias Church and the Fishermen's Bastion in the Castle area.
 

TOUR B - Hollókő -the World Heritage's village (65 DEM)


Bus tour to Hollókő, the only Hungarian village of the cultural world heritage. The village is famous for its folk architecture, costumes and has a picturesque location in the Cserhát hills. Population: 650.
"Palóc" folklore show and lunch included.
 

TOUR D - Balaton (75 DEM)


Lake Balaton, the Hungarian Sea is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe. Due to the friendly climate and mild water, lake Balaton is a perfect summer resort. Visit the old Abbey in Tihany, village museum. Lunch included.
 

TOUR E - Tour to Szentendre (30 DEM)


Free for registered accompanying persons.
Bus tour to the scenic Danube bend. Sightseeing in the artists' village of Szentendre, charming narrow streets and quaint little churches. Visit to the famous Margit Kovács Museum of ceramics and the open air Village Museum.
 

TOUR F - Fireworks (78 DEM)


August 20th is the Constitution Day of the Hungarian State. On this day we also celebrate the new bread of the year and the coronation of István (Saint Stephen), the first Hungarian king. Participants can enjoy the fireworks from a ship on the Danube. Dinner included.
 

TOUR G - Tour to the Danube Bend (70 DEM)


A day-trip along the Danube River. Visit to Esztergom, the residence of the Hungarian Archbishop, a walk around the Medieval Castle of the Hungarian kings, stopover in Visegrád, a historic settlement, other favoured residence of Hungarian kings. Visit to Szentendre, a little picturesque town. Lunch included.
 

TOUR H - Organ concert (20 DEM)


A very special musical event in the medieval Matthias Church, organ concert given by a famous Hungarian orgonist. Transportation by bus. Individual evening program (e.g. dining out in one of the numerous romantic restaurants in the Castle District) not included.
 

TOUR I - Excursion to Eger (72 DEM)


Participants will visit the interesting historic town of Eger, well-known for its fortress, Turkish Monuments, numerous wine cellars. The tour includes visit to the medieval Eger Castle and lunch with wine tasting.
